The concept was straightforward: people were making a huge decision about their floors without ever being able to see or touch what they were buying. Every other industry had showrooms. Decorative concrete didn't.
We built 10,000 square feet of fully installed displays in Fredericksburg, Virginia — not to sell from a catalog, but to let customers walk through real finished floors, see how the light plays across different finishes, and understand what they're actually getting before they ever sign a contract.
That showroom became the backbone of everything Coatings Central stands for.
We didn't just want to serve Fredericksburg. We wanted to be the connective tissue between great craftsmen and the customers who need them — everywhere.
Today our installer network spans all 50 states. Every installer in the network has gone through a verification process that includes portfolio review, credential check, and in many cases, training through Coatings College. When we refer someone to you, we're staking our name on their work.
We recognized early that the decorative concrete industry had a training problem. There was no structured, hands-on education for people who wanted to enter the trade or level up their skills. So we built it.
Coatings College is the first trade school in the country dedicated to decorative concrete — live hands-on classes taught by working professionals, manufacturer certifications, and continuing education for installers at every level.
